MARZ VPN: release notes Android 1.0.2 Stable. Linux 0.1.2-7 Stable (amd64 .deb). Windows 0.1.8 Beta (x64). What is new - Android 1.0.2, Linux 0.1.2-7 and Windows 0.1.8: Settings has "Check for updates" and shows your version. The app also checks by itself when it starts, at most once a day. If a newer official version is out, it tells you and opens the download page on marzvpn.com; it never downloads or installs anything by itself. The check reads one small public file and sends no account, token or device data. It does not touch the VPN or the Kill Switch. The Google Play build has no check: the store updates it. - Linux 0.1.2-6 Stable and Windows 0.1.7 Beta: Quit in the tray menu now turns the VPN off before closing the app. If the VPN is on or connecting, the app asks first: Cancel keeps everything running; Disconnect VPN and Exit turns the VPN off, waits until your regular connection is back, then closes. If the VPN cannot be turned off, the app stays open, says so and offers to try again. Closing the window with its cross still keeps the app in the tray with the VPN on. - Linux 0.1.2-6 and Windows 0.1.7: a button press is no longer lost when the screen refreshes. - Android 1.0.1 Stable: the connect button stays green while you leave the VPN on, also without a network, and the VPN comes back by itself when the network returns. A phone without internet is no longer told to change the route. - Linux 0.1.2-5 Stable: the app shows its own version; the license note says the source code is published and links to it. - Windows 0.1.6: a new version can be installed over the installed one, including while the VPN is on; you no longer need to uninstall first. The installer turns the VPN off, replaces all parts as one, and goes back to the previous version if the new one does not start. Your sign-in and settings stay. - Windows 0.1.6 and Linux 0.1.2-4: country flags are now pictures, so they look the same everywhere. Unknown countries get a neutral icon. - Windows 0.1.5 and Linux 0.1.2-3: the email address can be typed in full. The sign-in code shows its digits. - Official MARZ VPN apps for Windows and Linux: one big button, the same account, sign-in with Telegram or email. - Kill Switch, on by default. It can be changed in Settings while the VPN is off. - Emergency item in Settings to turn off the VPN and restore the internet. - Android 1.0.2 installs over 1.0.1 with the same signature; your sign-in and data stay. Good to know - Windows is still a Beta: some things may not work as expected. Windows 0.1.7 was checked by the owner of MARZ VPN on real Windows 11. Windows 0.1.8 passed automated tests and tests under Wine with a simulated firewall layer; it has not been run on real Windows 11 yet. No VPN can promise complete protection in every situation. - While the Kill Switch is on, the local network, printers, hotel Wi-Fi sign-in pages and Tailscale do not work. On Linux, containers do not either. Turn the VPN off when you need them. - After a restart with the VPN left on, the internet stays blocked until you sign in and the app connects. - If another user of the computer left the VPN on, that user or an administrator can turn it off. - With the Kill Switch off, traffic can go directly if the VPN drops. - Windows: the installer has no digital signature yet, so SmartScreen may warn you. Checksums of all files are in SHA256SUMS.txt in the GitHub release. - Windows updates: the VPN is off after an update until you turn it on in the app, and until then traffic goes directly. A silent update (/S) refuses to run while the VPN is on; add /ALLOWVPNOFF to allow it. - Windows 0.1.8, known limit: updating over an installed version was tested automatically, under Wine with a simulated firewall layer, not yet on real Windows. A clean install of the earlier 0.1.5 was checked on Windows 11. If an update stops with a message, follow it; uninstalling and installing anew also works. - Linux: for .deb systems with systemd on amd64; Linux Mint 22.3 is recommended. If the internet does not come back 1. Press the big button. 2. Settings > Emergency: turn off VPN and restore the internet. 3. As an administrator: Windows: "C:\Program Files\MARZ VPN\marzvpn-helper.exe" --recover Linux: sudo /usr/lib/marzvpn/marzvpn-helper --recover Licenses and source code: see the download page. Support: support@marzvpn.com ----- MARZ VPN: заметки о выпуске Android 1.0.2 Stable. Linux 0.1.2-7 Stable (amd64 .deb). Windows 0.1.8 Beta (x64).
