MARZ VPN for Windows

The official app: one button, your existing MARZ VPN account, and a Kill Switch that is on by default.

  • Version0.1.8 · Beta
  • Windows x64
  • 12.3 MB

Install

  1. Download the installer.

  2. Run it and confirm the administrator prompt.

  3. Open MARZ VPN from the Start menu.

The installer does not have a digital signature yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn you. Choose “More info” → “Run anyway”. Do not turn off Windows Defender or the firewall.

Kill Switch

On by default. While the VPN is on, it is designed to block ordinary internet traffic outside the tunnel, including IPv6 and DNS, through the firewall of the system. If the connection drops, the internet stays blocked and the app reconnects by itself.

The big button turns off the VPN and the block together, and your ordinary internet comes back. Closing the window keeps everything as it is.

You can turn Kill Switch off in Settings while the VPN is off. Then, if the VPN drops, your traffic can go directly, without the VPN. While the VPN is connected, DNS is set to go through the tunnel.

If the internet does not come back

Try in this order:

  1. Press the big button.
  2. Settings → “Emergency: turn off VPN and restore the internet”.
  3. As an administrator, run:
    "C:\Program Files\MARZ VPN\marzvpn-helper.exe" --recover

Removing the app also removes the block.

Requirements

  • Windows 11, 64-bit (x64).
  • Administrator rights to install.
  • Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Windows 11 usually has it; the installer opens the download page if not.

Known limits of this Beta

  • This is a Beta. It passed automated tests; the owner of MARZ VPN will still check it on real Windows 11. Some things may not work as expected. No VPN can promise complete protection in every situation.
  • While the Kill Switch is on, the local network, printers, hotel Wi-Fi sign-in pages and Tailscale do not work.
  • After a restart with the VPN left on, the internet stays blocked until you sign in to Windows and the app connects.
  • Updating over an installed version turns the VPN off; turn it on again in the app. Your sign-in and settings stay.
